Tiered run, tired run

I just finished my breakfast after a hard run this morning. It was only 3 miles but I chose to run it at 9:00 minutes per mile then 8:00 for mile 2 and finish at 7:00 for mile 3. It's challenging to keep picking up the pace and hold it to the point that I thought I was going to be sick as I finished. Maybe next time I should go for smaller increments of 30 seconds per mile instead. We've had rain here in Chicago this week and I've slept through two 5:50am alarms so I missed my opportunity to add a few extra miles toward my goal of 80 miles in 4 weeks which ended unsuccessfully yesterday. I managed 50 miles in 4 weeks so although I wasn't close it's certainly better than 0 miles in 4 weeks. I think the sensible thing to do would be to shoot for 55 for the next 4 weeks, despite the fact that my wedding and honeymoon fall into that period.
