How to Clear Out Your Inbox

It can be really annoying when you get too many emails. There is a way to stay notified of new articles posted by the websites you love, without receiving emails. We want to make sure that you're always notified of our new podcasts and blog articles, as well as other content you like to read. There is an easy way to get new articles on your own time, without filling up your inbox. It's through a mechanism called RSS.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. This basically means that you can get the articles from the places on the internet you visit sent right to your phone, or RSS account, such as Google Reader. RSS is a way to clear your inbox and create a virtual newspaper of all the content you love reading, out of your inbox. If you'd like the content to go straight to your phone, we'd recommend downloading Flipboard or NetNewsWire.

What is a Google Reader Account?

If you have a Gmail account, you already have a Google Reader account. You can set it up so that all the blogs you like reading go right to your Reader account. If you'd like to get started with a Google Account to access Google Reader services, sign up here. If you have a Gmail account you can access your Google Reader account by clicking “More” in your mail dashboard, then “Reader.”

WalkJogRun feeds you can subscribe to

If you don't want to receive all the articles we post, we made it easy to choose the ones you do want. We have a few feed options that you can subscribe to. You can choose to subscribe to the full blog, articles on injuries, nutrition, or the TalkJogRun podcasts.

The WalkJogRun Blog feed – This feed will subscribe you to as many posts that we publish. This includes all of the content from the feeds listed below. This comes out to about 3-4 articles per week. If you don't use RSS, you can also subscribe to this blog by entering your email address to the right. However, you will then receive an email notification 3-4 times a week when we post a new article.

The injury feed – This feed will only subscribe you to posts with an injury tag on it. This includes all posts by our injury bloggers, and where an injury was mentioned in an article.

The nutrition feed – This feed includes only posts that we discuss nutrition or recipes.

The TalkJogRun podcast feed– This feed subscribes you to all of the podcast episodes we post. These are posted once a week.

Remember: if you want all of the content we post, you only need to subscribe to the The WalkJogRun Blog feed

Are there different articles we post that you'd like to solely subscribe to? Let us know!

Feeds that I subscribe to myself

The Jillian Michaels Podcast – I love Jillian Michaels' podcast. I listen to these podcasts before bed to get tips from the health and fitness expert herself.

Runner's World Daily – I enjoy the posts from this feed because they are applicable to me as a runner.
