Tendinitis from Barefoot Running

I have Achilles tendinitis in both legs from running barefoot almost two weeks ago. I still have some pain. How long does it takes to heal? -Sebastian


The healing time can vary depending on the degree of tendinitis. I've seen it range from about 1-3 months. The keys for recovery are patience and stretching. Taking NSAIDS-non steroidal anti-inflammatory meds will help with the pain as long as they are tolerated. Running barefoot is becoming a new trend but it is not necessarily the best thing to do for your joints. I would recommend that you get a cushioned, supportive running shoe to help.
