Ultramarathon Runner Dean Karnazes

Dean Karnazes is one of the world’s most famous ultra marathon runners. In 2006, he ran 50 marathons in all 50 states, in 50 consecutive days. TIME named Dean one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People in the World.” He also holds the record for the longest uninterrupted run (262 miles). We were lucky enough to talk with Dean about his experiences running ultra marathons. In this podcast, he shares tips and advice for runners of all abilities.

When I spoke with Dean one of his biggest pieces of advice for avoiding injury and continuing running was to, “listen to everyone, follow no one.” In the interview he explains why this has been important to him and how following this philosophy has helped him to never experience an injury.
