After 3 months with Apple Maps and some great feedback from you, our customers, we decided to see if there was a way to get Google Maps back in our app. Turns out, there is!  The app update now available in the app store includes 9 different map types including 2 special additions and the open sourced “Open Street Maps”.

Bike maps pull the google bike map data to help our cycling users plot safe places to ride on the road.

Terrain maps show you where the hills are along a route so you can plot a route around them or, if you feel like challenge, shoot for the top!

We think you'll be as thrilled as we are with the flexibility of choosing different maps to help pick or plot a route.

What else is new?

* Improved privacy options. Okay, so some of you don't like people to find out how you rocked that 5k at the weekend or to let them follow your GPS trail to your favorite coffee shop. We  added the ability to make sessions private so they don't appear on the website.

* Discover a great new route on your run today and want to share it with the world?  Turn any of your GPS trails into routes to share publicly on the site (or keep them to yourself) by clicking the “Save this as a route” button on the training session detail page.

* Share your routes by text message.  Heading out for a run and need to let your BFF know where you'll be? Share your route from the app with a text message or, for the social butterflies you can still share your route on Facebook, twitter or by email.

* Bug fixes.  Sharing on Facebook is working again and thanks to some great feedback we fixed the crashes we know about. Please use the bug reports on the about screen to let us know if you have problems.

Our app thrives on good reviews and we need your help again. Please take a moment to download the app update and then click here to rate the app and add a review (or update your existing review for the latest version if you've already added one). Until the app gets 20 or more reviews in a country the average star rating for all versions shows (3.5 stars out of 5) instead of the average for the latest version which has been between 4.5 and 5 for the last 6 months.

Thank you so much for your continued support and don't forget to email us at iphonesupport@walkjogrun.net with any questions or problems with the app.

Wishing you the best for the holiday season,

Adam, Jeff and our families
